There are more than 100 athletes who annually die in our country due to sudden death (MSD) according to the Spanish Society of Cardiology ultrametabolismo. MSD is understood as the one that occurs during or after the exercise. The causes are different in relation to age, being over 35 years the most frequent ischemic heart disease and below this age are congenital and genetic alterations.
The effort tests I have clear that they are recommended for all athletes, but as you will see in certain occasions they are not enough to prevent sudden death. To clarify the issue I asked the opinion of Jon Ros Añón, Medical specialist in Anesthesiology and Resuscitation and Diploma in FiFA Football Medicine.
It is clear that people with heart disease are at increased risk of sudden death during the effort so it is essential first of all to rule out that such heart disease exists. If there is no heart disease we can play sports with guarantees as long as it is well directed by sports professionals ultrametabolismo review. Second, no test can absolutely avoid sudden death.
